Avocet Academy is an independent Multi Academy Trust formed in 2014 comprising Easton, Leiston and Wickham Market primary schools in Suffolk. The schools are led by two co-principals and each school has a local governing body to oversee progress and development. The Avocet Academy Trust oversees all three schools.
The Trust is based on the shared belief that collaboration between schools is the key to excellence in all aspects of education, leadership and opportunity. The Trust uses all the resources available to it to respond to individual school needs to enable rapid and sustained improvement and development for all our pupils. Staff work together to best meet the needs of our children and to develop tailored responses quickly and effectively.
Easton is a small rural primary school with 75 children on roll. In the heart of the country side pupils come from neighbouring villages of Kettleburgh and Brandeston amongst others.
Leiston Primary school is a large primary school including a nursery and has 290 children on roll. It is situated in the town of Leiston close to the Alde Valley High School on the Suffolk coast.
Wickham Market Primary school also has a nursery and has 200 children on roll. It serves the children of this small Market town as well as some from neighbouring villages.
