We are part of Avocet Academy Trust, a group of five rural schools where our strong philosophy puts the child at the centre of everything we do and we value collaboration and challenge to achieve this both across our School and across the Trust. Our school is a caring environment rated as ‘Good’ by Ofsted in 2017 and granted the Sandwells Chartermark for Mental Wellbeing in 2021. We are always driving forwards with our journey to improve and develop the provision for the children in our local community.
We are currently looking for an individual to join our highly skilled and busy Intervention Support Team.
We support pupils from a range of backgrounds and we are looking for a dedicated individual who has:
- High expectations of pupil behaviour, progress, attainment.
- Has experience of gathering pupil voice through work such as Wishes and Feelings.
- Knowledge of working with children who may need additional support with emotional development and mental health as well as English and Maths.
It is desirable that the successful candidate may have a background in:
- Thrive and/or ELSA support
- Strategies such as Drawing and Talking, Lego therapy and sensory therapy
- Experience in a pastoral support role
The role would encompass working with individuals and small groups to deliver interventions under the supervision and direction of the Assistant Headteacher with responsibility for Pastoral Support and include mental health, emotional wellbeing and SEND intervention. The role would also cover a role at lunchtimes supporting individuals with social interaction.
